Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2010 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 1,3, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald (Philologisches Institut), Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die Geschichte um Doktor Faust gehört zu den ältesten Erzählungen der deutschen Literatur und wurde im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen bekannten Sagen und Erzählun-gen in vielfältigster Weise abgedruckt und neu geschrieben.
Die „Historia des D. Johann Fausten“ von 1587 ist die älteste schriftliche Überliefe-rung des Faust-Kontextes, die uns heute vorliegt. Goethes „Faust. Eine Tragödie“ hingegen das bekannteste neuzeitliche Werk, das eine umfangreiche Neubearbeitung des Stoffes aufweist. Besonders auffällig, gerade bei Betrachtung des zweiten Teils, ist die beachtliche Menge an historischen-, mythologischen- und religiösen Motiven, die zu einigen Teilen aus der „Historia“ übernommen wurden. „Für den ‚Prolog im Himmel’ findet sich dagegen in früheren Faust-Texten kein Vorbild.“ Gerade in diesem Teil lässt sich eine große Anbindung an das „Buch Ijob“ des Alten Testamentes finden, das Bestandteil meiner Untersuchung sein soll. Goethe greift hierbei die ‚Wette’ zwischen dem Teufel (Satan) und Gott auf und überträgt sie als Rahmen-handlung seines Fausttextes in den „Prolog im Himmel“.
Diese Arbeit soll die Frage klären, was Goethe aus dem Buch Ijob übernommen hat, in welcher Form er das tat und welche Unterschiede es in der Verwendung des Grundgedankens der Wette gibt. Im Laufe meiner Arbeit werde ich demnach die beiden Texte (Goethes „Faust“ und das „Buch Ijob“) im Bezug auf Inhalt, Personen-konstellation und Übertragung von bestimmten Elementen vergleichen.
