Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Kulturwissenschaften - Allgemeines und Begriffe, Note: 1,3, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Institut für Volkskunde/Kulturgeschiche), Veranstaltung: Seminar Konfessionelles Zeitalter, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Die hier vorliegende Arbeit befasst sich mit der katholischen Festkultur im 19. Jahrhundert. Wobei sich die Betrachtungen nur auf den deutschen Raum beschränken und auch da nur punktuell einzelne Regionen herausgenommen wurden, um die These dieser Arbeit zu untermauern.
Es soll gezeigt werden, wie die historischen Umstände(Auswirkung der Aufklärung, Kulturkampf) und die daraus resultierenden sozialen Neuentwicklungen (Entwicklung des katholischen Milieus, Industrialisierung) auf das katholische Festverhalten in dieser Zeit eingewirkt haben.
Zunächst jedoch wird eine für die Fragestellung der Arbeit angemessene Definition von dem Begriff Fest aufgrund der Literatur erarbeitet.
Vor dem historischen Hintergrund soll dann gezeigt werden, dass sich die katholische Festkultur immer mehr als Gegen- bzw. Behauptungsprogramm vollzieht. Sie muss sich gegen ihre Aushöhlung bis hin zur befürchteten Bedeutungslosigkeit entgegentreten und gegebenenfalls eine Erneuerung der katholischen Festkultur versuchen.
Dies funktioniert aber nur, wenn man die historisch-gesellschaftlichen Voraussetzungen des 19. Jahrhunderts zu lesen und darauf angemessen zu reagieren vermag.
Am meisten konnte ich bei der Bearbeitung meiner Fragen von den Arbeiten Barbara Stambolis` über religiöse Festkultur profitieren.
Unter dieser Prämisse stellt sich die Frage, inwieweit transformiert sich das katholisch-religiöse zum politischen Fest, um sich gegenüber dem protestantisch-nationalen Fest abzugrenzen und zu behaupten? Besteht ein paradoxer Zusammenhang von partieller Übernahme von Ausdrucksformen des vermeintlichen Gegenübers, um sich von diesem zu distanzieren? Diesen Fragen versucht die Arbeit nachzugehen und zu beantworten.
