Das Kapitel Sozialer Konflikt liefert eine Definition von Sozialen Konflik-ten, und geht auf die Frage ein was durch Konflikte entstehen kann, dabei wird auch auf den Nutzen von Konflikten eingegangen. In dem Kapitel Typologien von Konflikten wird zunächst auf die verschiedenen Typisie-rungsmöglichkeiten von Konflikten eingegangen. Es wird beschrieben welche verschiedene Rahmen Konflikte aufweisen. Danach wird auf die Reichweite von Konflikten, dies bezieht sich auf involvierten Personen, eingegangen. Wie Konflikte sich darstellen können wird im Unterkapitel Erscheinungsformen erläutert. Diese Seminararbeit beschäftigt sich auch mit der Konfliktdiagnose. Anhand von Daten aus der Konfliktdiagnose kann ein systematisches Konfliktmanagement ausgeführt werden. Danach wird die Dynamik der Eskalation mit dem Eskalationsstufenmodell nach Pondy dargestellt und es wird auf die Wendepunkte in der Eskalation eingegangen.
Im Kapitel Phasen der Eskalation werden die neun Phasen der Eskalation auf Grundlage des Modells von Glasl, sowie die Unterschiede einer heißen und kalten Eskalation beschrieben. Danach geht es um die Interventionsmöglichkeiten bei Konflikten. Es wird auch die Bedeutung der Ausrichtung der Intervention dargestellt. Abschließend werden die Strategiemodelle der Intervention beschrieben.
