Shell Jugendstudie, die im Mai 1997 veröffentlicht wurde, ihre Ergebnisse. Die Studie hatte sich zum Ziel gesetzt, Voraussetzungen, Motive und Formen sowie das Verständnis des sozialen, gesellschaftlichen und politischen Engagements von Jugendlichen zu analysieren. Denn die Lebenswelt von jungen Menschen hat sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten immer mehr verändert. Die Jugendlichen befinden sich in einer komplexen Situation, nicht nur angesichts der schwierigen Lage am Arbeitsmarkt und im Bereich der Ausbildung. Darüber hinaus haben sich durch gesellschaftliche Differenzierungsprozesse innere Qualität, Zuschnitt und Aufgabenstruktur des Jugendalters gewandelt. Diese Entwicklung wird in der wissenschaftlichen Literatur als „Wandel der Jugendkultur“ bezeichnet und soll in der folgenden Arbeit behandelt werden. Doch was ist genau unter dem Wandel zu verstehen, welche Folgen hat er für die Lebensphase Jugend und resultiert daraus das geringe Interesse an politischer Partizipation?
Die vorliegende Hausarbeit mit dem Titel „Der Wandel der Jugendkultur und die Techno-Bewegung“ soll sich mit diesen Überlegungen auseinandersetzen. Hierbei besteht die zentrale Fragestellung darin, ob sich der jugendkulturelle Wandel an der Techno-Bewegung nachweisen lässt.
Ausgehend von einer Darstellung der aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Strukturen und Veränderungen nach theoretischen Arbeiten des Soziologen Ulrich Beck, sollen die daraus resultierenden Konsequenzen für die Lebensphase Jugend erarbeitet werden. Die Theorie Becks besteht in der Annahme, dass das Individuum im Kontext der gesellschaftlichen Modernisierung verstärkt aus den traditionellen Lebenszusammenhängen freigesetzt wird. Diese „Individualisierung“ und „Pluralisierung“ der Lebenswelt hat Auswirkungen auf die Lebensphase Jugend, denn sie ist „ebenso vielschichtig, plural und widersprüchlich (...), wie die Gesellschaft, in der junge Menschen leben und aufwachsen“, wodurch die These vom Wandel der Jugendkultur darin begründet ist.
