Wissenschaftlicher Aufsatz aus dem Jahr 2009 im Fachbereich Kunst - Kunstgeschichte, Note: keine, , Veranstaltung: »Das Bauhaus am Kiosk – Die neue Linie 1929–1943« Ausstellung im Bauhaus Museum Weimar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: »Die neue Frau ist da – sie existiert« schreibt 1918 die russische Schriftstellerin Alexandra Kollontai. Das Bild der Frauen in den Medien der 1920er Jahre bestimmen selbstbewusste, dynamische, experimentierfreudige Frauen: Die Autofahrerin, die Pilotin, die Sportlerin, die Lebenslustige und der Typ der androgynen Garçonne mit kurzem Haarschnitt und Hosen tragend. Sie alle prägen das Image der »Neuen Frau« und Zeitschriften wie »die neue linie« verbreiten es. Dies medial vermittelte Bild der Frau in den zwanziger Jahren stellt jedoch einen Mythos dar, der vor allem die Oberfläche und das Äußerliche meint.
Mädchen und junge Frauen träumten und hofften zwar auf das Erlernen und Ausüben eines eigenen Berufes, jedoch waren die Berufswünsche am Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts oftmals verbunden mit tradierten weiblichen Tätigkeiten, wie weben, nähen, kochen und bügeln. Demgegenüber standen ganz neue Berufsbilder, auch gestalterische, wie die Fotografie, die einige Frauen für sich entdeckten.
Frauen kamen anfangs zahlreich an das staatliche Bauhaus in Weimar, annähernd zu gleichen Teilen wie Männer. 101 Frau und 106 Männer waren es 1919, so ist es zumindest in der neuen Dauerausstellung der Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau (seit 2007) zu lesen. In der Ausstellung sind auf einer einführenden Zeitleiste die Studierendenzahlen vermerkt. Dazu hier folgende Tendenzen: Von Jahr zu Jahr wurden insgesamt weniger Studenten aufgenommen, davon reduzieren sich aber insbesondere die Zahlen der weiblichen Studierenden. In Berlin fingen dann nur noch 5 Frauen und 14 Männer an zu studieren. Die geringe Zahl von Studienanfängern ist sicherlich mit der schwierigen politischen Situation des Bauhauses zu begründen. Dennoch hat sich das Zahlenverhältnis der Studienanfänger Frauen und Männer sehr verändert. War es anfänglich noch gleichmäßig (Hälfte, Hälfte), so wurden später nur noch etwa ein Drittel bzw. dann ein Viertel Frauen ans Bauhaus aufgenommen. Wer mehr über die Zahlen der Studierenden am Bauhaus erfahren möchte, der sei auf die Dissertation von Folke Dietzsch verwiesen. In einer umfassenden Studie hatte er bereits in den 1980er Jahren damit begonnen, die Studierendenzahlen genauer zu untersuchen. So ist ermittelt, dass insgesamt etwa 1240 Studierende und 100 Lehrende am Bauhaus gewirkt haben.
