Diplomarbeit aus dem Jahr 2011 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Neuere Deutsche Literatur, Note: 10, Babes-Bolyai University, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das klassische Labyrinth wird von Dürrenmatt in ein Spiegellabyrinth umgewandelt, in dem Minotaurus dazu verdammt ist, immer nur sich selbst zu begegnen. Das Spiegellabyrinth, das den Raum des Labyrinths und das Bild des Minotaurus ad infinitum widerspiegelt, wird für den Schweizer Schriftsteller zu einem ästhetischen Ausdrucksmittel für die Erkenntnis- und Metaphysikkritik.
Damit entspricht Dürrenmatt einer Tendenz der Postmoderne, die die Sinnpluralität und das Paradoxon der Welt in der bildhaften Form eines rhizomatischen Labyrinths hervorhebt. Im Unterschied zu dem Platonischen Paradigma, in dem die Reflexivität eine indirekte Erkenntnisform der transzendenten Welt der Ideen vermittelt, funktioniert die Reflexivität in der Dürrenmattschen Ballade als eine tautologische Erkenntnisform, die den Zugang zu einer echten Alterität verwehrt und dadurch jede Erkenntnismöglichkeit annulliert. Der reflexive Blick in den Spiegel verdeckt das Fehlen von Transzendenz und verwandelt dadurch das Spiegellabyrinth in einen Raum der reinen Immanenz.
Demzufolge verknüpft das Dürrenmattsche Spiegellabyrinth-Motiv die Erkenntnisskepsis der Platonischen Philosophie mit der existentialistischen Weltanschauung.Das Spiegellabyrinth verwandelt sich in ein Paradoxon, und zwar in einen Raum ohne Räumlichkeit, in einen Unraum, der die reine Projektion der ontologischen Lage seines Bewohners, eines Unwesens, ist.
Dadurch annulliert Dürrenmatt die Rolle des klassischen Labyrinths als Initiationsraum, der den Helden zur Selbsterkenntnis führt. Denn das Spiegellabyrinth ermöglicht nur eine illusorische Erleuchtung, in Form der fragmentierten, ständig unterbrochenen Entwicklungsversuche.Minotaurus versucht seine ontologische Lage zu überschreiten, aber die Grenzen seiner Natur sind ihm nicht bewusst. Deshalb projiziert er sie nach außen, in das Bild eines Feindes, den aber - wie Narcis - als eine Ich-Projektion anerkennt, ein Zeichen dafür, dass die Rebellion nur gegen sich selbst möglich ist.
Demzufolge hebt das Spiegellabyrinth-Motiv die existentielle Lage des Menschen in der Welt hervor: als “eine irrationale Rationalität” (Dürrenmatt: WA36, S.180) modelliert jedes Individuum für sich selbst eine Welt, deren Grenzen die Grenzen seines Ich sind. Der Mensch lebt - wie Minotaurus - in einem Spiegellabyrinth bzw. in einem Labyrinth des Ich, in dem alle anderen möglichen Welten integriert werden.
