Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Geschichte - Weltgeschichte - Frühgeschichte, Antike, Note: 2,7, Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Universität Greifswald, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Hausarbeit untersucht, warum Sulla sich gezwungen sah den Einfluss der Volksversammlung zu beschränken, wie Sulla versuchte dies zu erreichen und ob seine Maßnahmen erfolgreich waren. Hierzu wird zunächst die Geschichte und Struktur der drei Typen der römischen Volksversammlung, der comitia curiata, comitia centuriata und comitia tributa sowie der informellen Versammlungen, den contiones dargestellt. Daran anschließend folgt eine kurze Darstellung des Volkstribunats, da die beiden Institutionen Volksversammlung und Volkstribunat, nur wenn sie gemeinsam agierten, die Republik (und die kollektive Herrschaft der Nobilität) destabilisieren konnten und auch gemeinsam von Sulla bekämpft wurden. Es schließt sich an ein historischer Abriss der Krisenzeit der Republik bis zu Sulla, beginnend mit den Gracchen; Sulla und seine Politik sind nur zu verstehen aus der Erfahrung der ihm vorangegangenen fünfzig Jahre. Anschließend wird die von Sulla geschaffene Verfassung dargestellt und daraufhin analysiert, welche Maßnahmen er zur Eindämmung der Volksversammlung traf.
