Mein Ziel ist es, die Bedeutung des Berufsfeldes Guía de Touristas, sowie die der darin agierenden weibliche Akteure darzustellen; - nicht nur im Tourismus des Landes, sondern als mögliche Repräsentation der Genderkonstruktionen und der Position der weiblichen Bevölkerung innerhalb der Gesellschaft Guatemalas und speziell in der Arbeitswelt. Dabei stelle ich mich der Frage: Kann die Repräsentation und Bedeutung der Frauen im Tourismus und speziell in der „Führungsposition“ als Guía de Turistas als repräsentativ für die Stellung der Frauen in der Gesellschaft Guatemalas in der Öffentlichkeit gesehen werden?

Bonfadelli/Wirth 2005: 590). Es gibt nur wenige Theorien in der Medienwirkungsforschung, die so umstritten und stark diskutiert worden sind, wie die Theorie der Schweigespirale von Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann. Das Werk Noelle-Neumanns „Die Schweigespirale – öffentliche Meinung – unsere soziale Haut“, das in den 1970er Jahren entstand, wurde einerseits als revolutionäre Theorie der öffentlichen Meinung und andererseits als absurd bezeichnet. Mit Hilfe dieser Theorie versuchte die Wissenschaftlerin in ihren populären Publikationen öffentliche Meinung und Massenkommunikation zu assoziieren. Dabei war die Definition der öffentlichen Meinung eine wichtige Voraussetzung, um den sozialpsychologischen Prozess der Schweigespirale zu verstehen (vgl. Schenk 1987: 526). „Meinungen, Verhaltensweisen in wertgeladenen Bereichen, die man öffentlich äußern, zeigen kann, ohne Gefahr, sich zu isolieren“ (Noelle-Neumann 1989: 419) versteht Noelle-Neumann unter der öffentlichen Meinung. Hierbei wurden auch Disziplinen wie Soziologie, Politologie und andere Sozialwissenschaften in das neue Konzept mit eingebracht. Noelle-Neumann geht sowohl auf das Publikum als Rezipienten, als auch auf den Einfluss von Kommunikatoren und Medien ein und verursacht dadurch eine internationale Diskussion um die Theorie der Schweigespirale. (Vgl. Deisenberg 1986: 51ff.) In der folgenden Arbeit sollen nun die Schweigespirale, ihre empirische Überprüfung und die Kritik an ihr grundlegend erläutert werden. Hauptkern der Arbeit soll letztendlich die Klärung der Frage sein, inwieweit es sich bei der Theorie der Schweigespirale Noelle-Neumanns um eine „echte“ theoretische Fundierung handelt.

Book looks great and feels well put together. Content-wise, I love BJ's fiction. Poignant and funny and full of imagination. If you can get down with a good coming of age story, then this collection of them will suit you just fine.

Nach eingehender Begriffsanalyse und Erörterung ihrer formalen Charakteristika soll erläutert werden, inwiefern Abtönungspartikeln eine nicht unerhebliche übersetzungsrelevante Problematik darstellen; und zwar speziell in Hinblick auf Übersetzungen ins Französische, bzw. aus dem Französischen ins Deutsche.
Zunächst soll auf die nicht ganz unumstrittene Begriffsgebung „Abtönungspartikeln“ eingegangen und geklärt werden, inwiefern diese von anderen Partikeln der deutschen Sprache abzugrenzen sind. In diesem Sinne soll im darauffolgenden Kapitel der Versuch einer Definition der Abtönungspartikeln hinsichtlich ihrer morphologischen und phonetischen Struktur, ihrer syntaktischen Eigenschaften sowie ihrer Funktion und Gebrauchsweise unternommen werden.
Im Weiteren soll anhand einiger Beispiele exemplarisch aufgeführt werden, welche unterschiedlichen Bedeutungsnuancen Abtönungspartikeln im Deutschen enthalten können. Im darauffolgenden Kapitel soll das Augenmerk auf die beim Vorgang des Übersetzens durch Abtönungspartikeln entstehende Problematik gelenkt werden, die sich daraus ergibt, dass das Sprachsystem des Französischen kein genaues Gegenstück zu diesen Partikeln liefert. Um aufzuzeigen, welche Alternativen die französische Sprache bietet, entsprechende Bedeutungsnuancen auszudrücken, sollen im Anschluss unter Berufung auf das „Wörterbuch deutscher Partikeln“ exemplarisch denkbare französische Äquivalente für einige Partikeln genannt werden.
Abschließend soll das erarbeitete Wissen über die deutschen Abtönungspartikeln und deren Entsprechungen im Französischen auf einen „interlingualen Mehrfachvergleich“ zwischen Auszügen aus Daniel Pennacs Roman „Au bonheur des ogres“ und dessen deutschen Übersetzungen von Eveline Passet („Paradies der Ungeheuer“ ) und Wolfgang Rentz („Im Paradies der Ungeheuer“ ) angewendet werden.

Viele Kampfsportverbände haben in den letzten Jahren im Bereich des Kinder und Jugendsports eine stärkere pädagogische Auslegung der von ihnen vertretenen Sportarten gefördert, um ihre Sportart in den Schulsport zu integrieren. So ist die Kampfsportart Judo schon seit Jahren in den Richtlinien und Lehrplänen des Ministeriums für Schule, Wissenschaft und Forschung im Inhaltsbereich 9 „Ringen und Kämpfen – Zweikampfsport“ mit exemplarischen Elementen vertreten (vgl. Ascherbrock & Pack, 2008, S. 7-9). Der Karateverband hat beispielsweise in dem Schulprojekt „Sound Karate“ in den letzten Jahren ebenfalls dem Unterrichtsalltag im Sport durch den Bereich „Einsatz von neuen Geräten“ und den daraus resultierenden neuen methodische Möglichkeiten innovierende Impulse gesetzt (vgl. Brünig, 2007). Auch aus der Sportart Taekwondo, welche seit 2000 olympisch ist, wurde eine aus dem bestreben nach mehr Mitgliedern eine Schulsportkonzeption entwickelt. About the Author

J. Ted Hartman was 19 years old when he got behind the controls of a tank and drove it into battle. After receiving a discharge from the army, he took a medical degree and became an orthopedic surgeon. He was founding chairman of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the School of Medicine, Texas Tech University, from which he is now retired.

Good but somewhat general account

Hartman was a PFC with the 41st Battalion, B Company of the 11th Armored Div and saw action from the end of the Bulge battle to the very end of the war. The book is significant by its mere existence. I know of very few books by American tankers. The book is well written and covers from his indoctrination through home coming and even his revisiting Belgium in later years.
Hartman was a M4 Sherman driver and tank commander (although he was initially given the choice of being a driver or a gunner). Unfortunately his details on his many combat actions are light. But he does give a few interesting glimpses into the life of a U.S. tanker.
-He was on the Sherman the whole time but he never details what variants along the way. One picture in the books shows him on a M4A3E8 at the end of the war. He does mention going from the 75mm Sherman to the 76mm during his Bulge actions. He also notes that his battalion got four Pershings (one per company) in April 1945, just before the end of the war. Because no one was familiar with them they were stuck in the back of the column. He said folks felt better knowing the limitations of the Sherman. Although, he does note they wish they had the Pershing during the Bulge fighting. Hartman comments on the great reliability of the Sherman throughout the book and notes the German tanks "lumbered along at a snail's pace compared to ours."
-Tanker losses were really appalling. In nine months of combat the 11th Armored Div suffered 48.1% casualties during the war with 614 killed (out of about 12,000 men in the Div). His 41st Battalion suffered 68 killed (about 11%) and his Company B suffered 23 killed (about 20%). What is amazing is the high loss of officers and tank commanders. His company commander was killed within minutes of their first action and in the nine months I think they went through three or four COs (one at least was wounded and returned later). He only seems to comment on a couple of bad platoon leaders. He lost numerous tank commanders either directly or as they left to fill other vacancies. In the Forward of the book, Spencer Tucker states that the 3rd Armored Div suffered 580% casualties of its tanks (either destroyed or 'knocked-out') and that the U.S. lost 6,000 tanks in Europe during the war.
-Hartman comments on the poor performance of the 75mm gun and that they had to get rear shots on the German tanks. "The German gun had fired an armor-piercing projectile that entered the turret, killed all three men, and then exited the other side. We knew the German 88 was extremely powerful, but this was devastating to see. We were later able to measure the distance from which it had been fired-1,700 yards, almost a mile!" What is most notable though is the low number of actual tank vs tank actions (at least that he describes). What seemed to cause the most tank loses were panzershreck attacks (the author always says panzershreck or even bazooka but who knows if this was strictly true or if he did not differentiate among panzerfaust, etc.). Snipers also killed a number of his comrades.
-The author describes working very frequently with armored infantry troops and how often a couple troops would ride on the back deck of the tank to spot enemy infantry and AT units. He also talks about how `Art' (a call sign), the Piper Cub spotter plane, would fly overhead and call down artillery on enemy positions and even help give them driving directions through towns. Art also called in tactical air cover and Hartman comments on P-47s firing rockets at the enemy. He mentions at least a couple of occasions when the tankers would act as or support infantry clearing houses.

Boring.

I really did not enjoy this book. It started out pretty interesting, but after the writer got to Europe it devolved into, "we drove and drove some more." There is very little details about any of the battles this unit was involved in, it pretty much deals with the author and his unit driving until the end of the war. I understand he was a "tank driver" although he did command a few tanks during a few times during the war, but it would have been a better book if he had provided more details of the battles his company had.

Indiana University Press, 2003.

In 1943, J. Ted Hartman graduated from high school and became a member of the United Stares Army. After training in Camp Roberts, California, he was assigned to the Army Specialized Training Program (ASTP) and he traded his hometown college town of Ames, Iowa for the college town of Eugene, Oregon, University of Oregon. In February, 1944, the Army Specialized Training Program was shut down and most the ASTPers at University of Oregon were assigned to the 11th Armored Division. Hartman states, "So much for the word of the army" and he places that comment in italics. Every now and then, the author will use the same statement, in italics, to point out the duplicity of the Army, in particular, and the government, in general.

Camp Cooke, California. On page 24, the author recounts that a "...lieutenant at the microphone was trying to be funny at 2 A.M. When we weren't responsive, he began making nasty remarks about college kids and ASTP. It was all downhill from there". As you go through life, the sad thing is that the nasty remarks and the hurtful looks are more easily remembered. Here, an unnamed lieutenant has been remembered with a subliminal curse in this book. J. Ted Hartman brings this same attention to personal remembrances throughout the book, as the 11th Armored Division trains in the U.S., crosses the ocean and begins its combat career in Europe.

The author traces the path of his division from the Battle of The Bulge, in Belgium, through Luxemburg, across the Siegfried Line and into Germany. They cross the Mosel River and travel south across Germany, with a side trip into Worms. All of these engagements are documented in a personal way, but they are also accompanied by maps and photos. The maps have been simplified to remove unnecessary details and then the maps are annotated to accompany the text. For example, on page 84, the map has a note, "Fulda. Defended bitterly. Armor bypasses to north", which is further explained in the surrounding pages. His personal comments are quiet and unassuming: "...a sniper hit Zaher, one of our most capable tank commanders. While we provided cover, the medics evacuated him". (Page 102).

This is a very uplifting personal memoir. The shock of battle, having a tank shot out from under them, the discovery of the horrors of the concentration camps, all generally reflecting the history of the 11th Armored Division, are covered in this excellent book. The book ends with two concluding chapters. "Waiting To Go Home" tells about the occupation forces in Europe, while the chapter, "Belgium Remembers" recounts a visit to various battlefields in 1994, the fiftieth anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.

Sie soll die Mehrheit der Bevölkerung vor existenzgefährdenden Schäden (Verdiensteinbußen und -ausfall), die beispielsweise in Folge von Krankheiten oder Minderungen der Arbeitsfähigkeit entstehen, schützen. Die Sozialversicherung umfasst die Versicherungszweige der Krankenversicherung, Unfallversicherung, Rentenversicherung, soziale Pflegeversicherung und der Arbeitslosenversicherung (Arbeitsförderung). Eine essentielle Voraussetzung für das Inkrafttreten einer Versicherung ist die Beitragszahlung. Für die Kran-kenversicherung, Rentenversicherung, Pflegeversicherung und die Arbeitslosenversicherung ist ein gemeinsamer Beitrag, der sogenannte Gesamtsozialversicherungsbeitrag nach
§ 28d SGB IV, zu zahlen. Dieser beinhaltet sowohl die Arbeitgeber- als auch die Arbeitnehmeranteile. Jedoch ist laut § 28e Abs. 1 SGB IV der Schuldner des Gesamtsozialversicherungsbeitrages stets der Arbeitgeber. Dieser zieht, auf Grundlage seines Rechtsanspruchs aus § 28g SBG IV, den Arbeitnehmeranteil vom Arbeitsentgelt seiner Arbeitnehmer ab. Zahlungsempfänger des Gesamtsozialversicherungsbeitrages sind die Einzugsstellen (Kranken-kassen). Außerdem sind die Einzugsstellen für das Meldeverfahren und die Feststellung der Versicherungspflicht und der Beitragshöhe verantwortlich, § 28h SGB IV. Auch für die Prüfung bei den Arbeitgebern waren die Einzugsstellen bis zum 13.12.1995 uneingeschränkt zu-ständig. Allerdings wurde diese Aufgabe durch das dritte Gesetz zur Änderung des Sozialgesetzbuches sukzessiv auf die Rentenversicherungsträger übertragen. Seit dem 01.01.1999 übernehmen diese vollständig die Prüfung bei den Arbeitgebern gemäß § 28p SGB IV. Im Rahmen dieser Prüfung erwachsen den Rentenversicherungsträgern Befugnisse, die ansonsten nur den Einzugsstellen zustehen.

Ziel dieser Hausarbeit soll es sein, das Verhältnis von § 28h SGB IV zu § 28p Abs. 1 Satz 5 SGB IV zu klären. Dabei wird zunächst der Anwendungsbereich des § 28h WGB IV dargestellt und anschließend der Regelungsinhalt des § 28p SGB IV untersucht. Danach können die gewonnen Erkenntnisse in einer zusammenfassenden Gegenüberstellung der beiden Normen nachvollzogen werden. In einer letzten Betrachtung schließt sich die Besprechung verschiedener Sachverhalte mit Bezug auf die Normen des § 28h und § 28p SGB IV an.

Often the relationship between the two has been characterised in terms of ‘opposition’, ‘contrast’ or ‘incompatibility’. It can, however, be argued that this theorizing has – at least in cultural theory which is the strand of discourse that is dealt with in this paper – been replaced by a ‘unity’. More precisely, it is practice theory that has in several ways overcome the opposition and replaced it with an ‘inclusive view’ (e.g. Reckwitz (2002); Shove&Pantzar (2005)).

Going beyond the debate of ‘practice theory’ in its different forms (comparing for example Bourdieu with Schatzki) and also exceeding the comparison of practice theory with other forms of cultural theory (see Reckwitz (2002) for an overview), this paper will make two arguments: First of all, if we focus on the more recent forms of practice theory (what Postill (2010) calls the ‘second wave’), it is indeed possible to abolish the above oppositions in favour of an inclusive notion of practice regarding material and meaning. We will try to provide a common theoretical understanding of practice in the first part of the following essay. Secondly, the main part of this paper consists of an applied case study, the ‘Revolution of the Practice of Payment’. We follow the approach developed by Shove and Pantzer (2005) towards Nordic walking in order to depict the development of payment practices from coin and paper to plastic money.

In the last chapter of this paper, however, we will debate the notion whether it should do so. In this critical part, we will take into account arguments formulated on the one hand from material culture studies and on the other from language and representation studies in relation to payment practices in particular. Without questioning the general claim of practice theory, we show two alternative ways of describing payment. On the one hand we argue in the tradition of Shell and Baudrillard that payment became already with the advancement of paper money inherently immaterial and symbolic, whereas following Miller’s material studies on the other hand, payment will always be deeply linked to materiality – even in its most immaterial forms.

Diese verbindet die Vorteile der Fremdkapitalfinanzierung mit den Vorteilen der Eigenkapitalfinanzierung. Das Unternehmen hat somit die Möglichkeit, steuerliches Fremd-kapital aufzunehmen und gleichzeitig das wirtschaftliche Eigenkapital zu stärken, ohne die bestehenden Gesellschafterstrukturen zu verändern.

In dieser Arbeit werden die wesentlichen Merkmale der ewigen Anleihe aufgezeigt und ihr Wesen aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln analysiert.
