September 1892 in der zukünftigen russischen Hauptstadt Moskau geboren und verbrachte dort den größten Teil ihres Lebens.
Viele Aspekte in der Dichtung Marina Cvetaevas haben ihren Ursprung in der unruhigen und verdrängten Kindheit, die trotzdem einzigartig war. Cvetaeva war eine Frau mit einem schweren und hoch dramatischen Schicksal. Ihre Werke verfasste sie in der Zeit politischer und gesellschaftlicher Umbrüche. Doch niemals preiste sie die Revolution an und machte sie auch nicht zum Thema in ihren Gedichten, es sei denn in einer indirekten Weise, bedingt durch den Kontext.
Die Liebe zum Leben spiegelte sich bei Cvetaeva in erster Linie in der Liebe zu Russland und zur russischen Muttersprache, aber insbesondere in der Liebe zu ihrer Heimatstadt Moskau, der sie schließlich eine Vielzahl ihrer Gedichte gewidmet hatte. Wie bei Puškin, so gehören auch in Cvetaevas Poesie Russland und Moskau zu den wichtigsten Themen, auch wenn bei ihr solche Motive wie Liebe, Trennung und Ewigkeit im Gegensatz zum „Russischen“ immer in den Vordergrund gerückt sind. Die Dichterin hatte im Vergleich zu anderen berühmten russischen Dichtern wie Blok oder Nekrasov kein mythisches, lebendiges, aber ihr eigenes Russland- und Moskaubild geschaffen. Cvetaevas Moskau verkörpert ihre Heimat, also Russland. Das Land und die Stadt vereinigen sich zu einem Ganzen. Betrachtet man die Darstellung von Moskau in ihren Gedichten, ist dort immerzu auch das Bild des geliebten Russland anwesend.
Bereits im Jahre 1912 erscheint Cvetaevas Gedichtsammlung "Волшебный фонарь", wo neben der Darstellung des alltäglichen Familienlebens zum ersten Mal die äußere Gestalt Moskaus auftaucht. Nach den vielen Jahren der Emigration zuerst in Berlin, dann in Prag und schließlich in Paris erhält das Thema Heimat in ihren Werken eine besondere Bedeutung. Erst in der Emigration entwickelt sich eine besonders nahe Beziehung zu Russland. Dort realisiert sie auch, dass ihre Gedichte nur in der von ihr verlassenen Heimat eine Chance haben, den richtigen Leser zu erreichen, und wirklich verstanden zu werden.
In der vorliegenden Arbeit werden verschiedene Bilder von Russland, aber insbesondere das Bild von Moskau parallel zum Lebensweg Marina Cvetaevas analysiert. Dafür werden mehrere Gedichte aus unterschiedlichen Gedichtsammlungen herangezogen und hinsichtlich des genannten Themas näher betrachtet.
