Jahrhunderts verfasst worden sein oder aber gleichfalls aus einem Kinofilm des letzten Sommers hervorgehen. Es treffen viele Möglichkeiten zu, welche die Annahme verstärken, dass das Motiv des Vampirs die Jahrhunderte überdauert hat.
Die Gestalt des blutsaugenden Wiedergängers hat sich zu einem beliebten literarischen Motiv entwickelt. Als angsteinflößendes Monster, erotisches Ungeheuer oder auch bleiche Gestalt, die seine Opfer zähnefletschend verfolgt, wandelt es durch zahlreiche Filme, Gruselgeschichten, Lieder, Comics, Werbungen oder PC-Spiele. Doch worin fundiert sich eine solche Faszination des Vampirmythos? Die Gesellschaft nimmt den Urglauben des Wiedergängers als gegeben hin, doch stellt sich dabei die Frage, was ein Vampir überhaupt ist und wie sich der Glaube an solche Wesen erst entwickeln konnte.
